'TyLeOn' aka Simon Towler was born 3rd March 1984 in Chester, England. And was raised in several locations around England before moving to a area called Romsey (near Southampton) on England's South Coast.
Here he went through high school and college, it was a stressful time for the youngster, as family problems and personal drama caused a lot of stress.
In his free time he would chill out by listening to he favourite rappers, including the likes of '2Pac' 'Warren G' and 'Snoop Doggy Dogg'.
Then in the summer of 2000 he moved in with his Uncle in a area called Croydon in South London. Here he met a old friend called Lee (aka LeEo) who he knew through basketball and was also in to hip hop. The pair began to freestyle and people soon realised they had a great talent for hip hop.
Unfortunatly Simon had to move back down to Romsey at the end of the summer to go to college, him and Lee lost touch, but Simon continued to freestyle and started to write and record rhymes. He gave himself the street name of 'T Flexx' which soon changed to 'TyLeOn' (taken from his own name), and made tracks on his sisters kareoke machine. Eventually his family managed to afford a PC, and Ty could start to record his music on computer.
TyLeOn made as many contacts as he could over the internet, and managed to have talks with 'Warren G', 'Jenifer Lopez' and 'Half-a-Mill' as well as a number of undergroud emcees. In a converstation with New York rapper 'Half-a-Mill' it was suggested that TyLeOn should put his music on MP3.com. So towards the end of 2000 TyLeOn set up his MP3.com site.
On this site he put up a few of his recordings, and he kept on recording music in his own style. Through this site listeners from all around the world could access TyLeOn's tracks, the site got many hits from listeners and proved to be a great success.
TyLeOn started to put a lot of work into his tracks, so that they could be used for a demo to be sent off to record labels in a hope to get signed. Whilst doing this he hooked up with fellow south coast emcee 'Lil' Mar' and they made several tracks together until 'Lil' Mar' moved away from TyLeOn's area.
TyLeOn went back to making tracks by himself, and made a Demo tape. This is currently gettin looked at by the major players in the UK music industry. TyLeOn has had a lot of positive feedback from many fellow hip hop emcees/fans on his demo, and things are currently looking good.
TyLeOn is currently workin on a second Demo and is looking to do projects with UK underground emcees 'Xally'(of out da ville) 'MC Unique'(of Rap Junkie) and 'Son-1'(of NICEvibes). Expect a new Demo and some hot collaborations in the near future from the UK's hottest new hip hop talent... TyLeOn!
